Carolinas Home Care Agency delivers IDD services through North Carolina's Innovations Waiver, which provides Medicaid funding for home and community-based supports outside of institutional settings.
Assists with activities of daily living and personal care. Provides habilitation and skill building to enable the participant to acquire and maintain skills that support greater independence — including shopping, recreation, personal banking, and other community activities.

A primarily group service providing assistance with the acquisition, retention, or improvement in self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills. Available for individuals 18 and older with an intellectual disability (including mental retardation, brain injury, Autism, or Cerebral Palsy) on the Innovations Waiver. Focuses on enabling participants to attain or maintain maximum functional level, coordinated with physical, occupational, or speech therapies in the Individual Support Plan.

Provides assistance with choosing, acquiring, developing, and initial job training for participants age 16 or older for whom competitive employment has not been achieved. Includes pre-job training, career counseling, job shadowing, resume preparation, interview skills coaching, study skills assistance, and on-the-job support for skill retention.

Provides habilitation and skill building to enable the participant to acquire and maintain skills which supports greater independence. Supports the consumer in increasing community living skills, such as shopping, recreation, personal banking, grocery shopping and other community activities. Also includes training in interpersonal skills and development and maintenance of personal relationships.

A developmental disability service that includes the assessment, treatment, and instruction of individuals in acquiring activities of daily living skills that a client has not gained at normal developmental stages, or is not likely to develop socialization skills. Services include functionally related skills development (street signs, signatures, calculator use), training in prevocational areas (staying on task, safety, punctuality), and teaching recipients to access the community including recreation activities.
